11 Weeks!

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

Wow, water ballet. Amazing.

Today I feel like I've been hit by a truck. We had a very full, crazy weekend and my afternoon naps and sleeping in didn't happen. :(

Thursday, Grandma came in from FLA for 3 weeks. Of course, shopping followed.
Friday, T and I went down to the Tigers game. Very fun - until the bottom of the 9th. Pisser. Mom and gma drove me to T's office in East Lansing so I didn't have to drive over and then have to drive home at midnight. Of course, shopping preceeded the dropping off.
Saturday, T and I went to see T's mom in the hospital. She had a full knee replacement on Friday. We visited for a while and watched her do some therapy. Her therapist said she was a rockstar and progressing much better than expected. Yay! Then we came home and I did get to have a bit of a nap before getting ready to go to Wharton to see my fav musical Wicked! This makes 5 times in the last 3 years. We were very disappointed in last year's performance at Wharton and after many email exchanges with people in charge, we were able to get tickets for this year's performance as compensation for our experience last year. MUCH MUCH better this year! :) Very pleased! :)
Sunday, T, Mom, Gma and I went to brunch at Flat River Grill in Lowell and then went down to Otsego for my uncle's retirement party. Lots and lots of people were there that we hadn't seen in ages. It was funny, there were 2 big tents put together outside the golf course and one tent was all Kzoo people and the other was the old Lansing friends and family. Many people got up and told funny/heartwarming/kind/"roast" style stories about my uncle. He was also a basketball coach there for many years, so there were also a lot of funny coaching stories. My cousin got up and made me bawl - he's the more emotional of my cousins and said some very nice things. Then my uncle got up and introduced the family and made a big display of announcing my news! My only wish for the whole day would have been if my grandpa could have been there. He would have absolutely loved it. My uncle was his life for so long and no one was his bigger fan - especially through all his basketball days and coaching days. I'm sure he was there somewhere and was very happy. :)

Anyway, that was my weekend, the long version of it. Sorry, I should have warned you. More interesting gma stories to come...
